TV Wall Mounting Bracket
A TV wall mounting bracket holds your television to the wall. For this reason, it must be strong, rust proof, and serve the purpose well.
There are some things you must check for before actually buying a TV wall mounting bracket. First of all, you must check whether the bracket is strong and big enough to accommodate your television. The VESA spacing, or the distance between holes for mounting, must be correct. You have to check the VESA spacing of your television and that of your bracket. Both must be similar. Do not try to adjust the spacing, as this can affect the structure of the bracket and in turn damage it.
The spacing to run the cable of the television must be as required. You must not try to keep the cable folded in or just put it congested. This can cause short circuit in the cables due to the heat emitted by the television. If you want a slim bracket which stays very close to the walls, check for the cabling space first. Also if you want to tilt and adjust the monitor settings, your bracket must have these features.
Some brands now sell the wall and ceiling mounted shelf itself, where you can put all those DVDs, DVD players, and remotes without leaving it around on the ground or tables. These kinds of shelves are available in most of the leading TV accessory stores. Some online stores also sell these items. So you can order the required item depending on your choice. You can also choose the color and material which matches the furnishings and paint of your room.
Different types of TV wall mounting brackets are available now. The tilt TV mounting bracket allows your television to be tilted to a specified degree. This makes it possible for you to watch the television from any angle. The swivel brackets are a bit more advanced and are of different types. Some swivel brackets allow pulling out the television, rotating it in 360 degrees, and even pushing it flat against the wall. These types of brackets are good for use if you frequently need to move your television.
If your television is an LCD or plasma, then certain brackets allow you to fold the monitor towards the ceiling or wall, when not in use. You can open it again when you wish to watch the television. This feature is a part of the flexibility and may not be available in all types of mounts.
When fixing the bracket seek professional help. This is because the fixing may involve drilling the wall, tightening the screws, and mounting the television. The screws must be correctly fitted to avoid any mishap.
Proper maintenance of the brackets is necessary for ensuring long life of the product. You may have to check for any loose screws, rusting of the metals, or any displacement of the television. While cleaning the bracket, make sure that you follow the instructions in the manual and switch off the power before cleaning.
Some additional tips:
Make sure the mounting bracket you choose is compatible with your TV. Most TVs don’t come with mounting hardware, so you’re on your own. Start by looking for brackets made by your TV’s manufacturer. Some TVs require specific mounting hardware, so check the manual. Also look in the manual to find out how much your TV weighs, and buy a bracket rated for that weight. Never use a bracket that is not designed to hold the weight or size of your TV.
Have you a feel for how big a bracket I’d need for one of the more modern 32 inch screens? I know that some of them are coming with LED lighting so that they can mount even closer to the wall.
